Innovate UK, the Department of Health and the Medical Research Council have launched a call for “innovative organisations” to support the preclinical development of vaccines against 12 specified diseases.
Academic, industrial and government organisations are invited to apply for a share of £25 million to develop vaccines against diseases that have been identified as a priority by the Vaccine Network.
The diseases were chosen because they have the potential to cause epidemics in low and middle-income countries, Innovate UK said in a statement on 25 October. They include Ebola, Zika, bubonic plague and Rift Valley fever.
