The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy is seeking UK experts to join the author team for a special report for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
The IPCC is seeking coordinating lead authors, lead authors and review editors to work on a special report on the impact of global warming of 1.5ºC above pre-industrial levels. The report will consider the context of “strengthening the global response to the threat of climate change, sustainable development and efforts to eradicate poverty”.
IPCC authors are nominated by their governments from a shortlist of candidates. However, the rest of the process is an arm’s-length one, in which governments have no direct say in the report’s contents.
