Chancellor must fix Brexit civil service crisis, says union

Prospect, a trade union, has called on chancellor Philip Hammond to address a “resourcing crisis” in the civil service.

More civil service staff and resources are needed to prepare for the UK to leave the European Union, Prospect said in a statement on 17 November.

The call followed a “number of warnings in the past few days” about the ability of Whitehall to draft a Brexit plan, it said.
