The Department for International Development has announced the first winners of its Strategic Partnerships for Higher Education Innovation and Reform competition.
The competition, which is managed by the British Council, Universities UK and PricewaterhouseCoopers, is aimed at funding higher education in fragile and conflict-ridden states in Africa, Asia and the Middle East. It also emphasises the involvement of private providers and technology platforms for learning and teaching.
The first two winning proposals are led by King’s College London in collaboration with universities and organisations in Germany, Somaliland, Lebanon and Jordan.
