The National Institute for Health Research has announced 23 recipients of funding to support investment in the staff and infrastructure for carrying out clinical research in UK hospitals.
Provided over the next five years, the total funding of £112.3 million will pay for specialist research nurses and technical staff, as well as providing cutting-edge facilities to support clinical research and trials, the NIHR said in a statement.
The 23 facilities, where clinical research and support staff from universities and NHS Trusts will work on patient-oriented experimental medicine studies, will receive between £750,000 and £12.9m each for five years from 1 April 2017.
