The government chief scientific adviser Mark Walport has offered a series of recommendations to help the UK to capitalise on its strengths in quantum technology.
In a report published by the Government Office for Science on 3 November, Walport highlights the UK’s status as a world leader in quantum technologies, but believes the country could do more to enhance its position.
Walport and co-author Peter Knight, emeritus professor of quantum optics at Imperial College London, make a number of suggestions to help the UK “increase its lead” in quantum technology.
