Whitehall told to make better use of departmental R&D budgets

The UK government could make more strategic use of its departments’ R&D spend, the Campaign for Science and Engineering has said.

The campaign published a briefing document into the UK government’s departmental spend on R&D and knowledge transfer on 8 November.

The analysis is meant to inform a wider project on the use of evidence in policymaking that CaSE aims to publish in spring 2017, the campaign’s deputy director Naomi Weir told Research Fortnight.
