Johnson hints at changes to Innovate UK staff

The creation of UK Research and Innovation and the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund may result in changes to the Innovate UK team, according to science minister Jo Johnson.

In a response to a written parliamentary question on 6 December from Clive Lewis, Labour MP for Norwich South, Johnson said that both UKRI and the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund “may have an impact on staffing at Innovate UK in due course”.

Although the minister did not specify whether Innovate UK’s staff might increase or decrease, he promised to work with the agency’s chief executive Ruth McKernan to ensure that it is well resourced.
