‘No confirmed date’ for government’s R&D Roadmap

BEIS science head says crucial document shaping sector’s future is still without a deadline

The government has no set date for publishing its final R&D Roadmap, the document that is supposed to outline a vision for the future of the UK’s research sector.

The roadmap has been touted as a key piece in government plans for a huge increase in UK spending on R&D and a draft was put out for consultations this summer. But Alexandra Jones, director of science, research and innovation at Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, said on 8 December that “there is no confirmed date at the moment” for a final publication.
