Move follows calls for transparency on potential conflicts of interest of UK government’s Covid-19 advisers

The government has published a register of interests of members of its Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies, which has been advising on Covid-19.

The move follows calls for more transparency on potential conflicts of interest among Sage members, and the revelation in September that Sage co-chair Patrick Vallance, the government’s chief scientific adviser, holds a deferred bonus of shares in his previous employer, pharmaceuticals firm GSK—one of the companies the government has pre-ordered Covid-19 vaccines from.
