Jo Grady criticises appointment of William Shawcross to examine controversial anti-radicalisation scheme

The general secretary of the University and College Union has criticised as “extremely divisive” the appointment of William Shawcross as independent reviewer of the government’s Prevent counterterrorism programme.

Some academics have long complained that Prevent is not fit for purpose and unfairly targets Muslim students.
