Government clarifies independence of Government Office for Science from Office for Science and Technology Strategy

Downing Street has clarified to Research Professional News that the newly announced Office for Science and Technology Strategy will neither incorporate nor supersede the existing Government Office for Science.

After the announcement of the Office for Science and Technology Strategy on 21 June a number of policy experts queried how it would relate to the existing GO-Science office in the business department, especially as both are run by chief scientist Patrick Vallance.
