
But failure to create motor neurone disease research institute disappoints campaign group
The UK government has set out its spending plans for the £50 million it pledged towards motor neurone disease research in a move welcomed by campaigners even though their key demand—for a dedicated research institute—has not yet been met.
The £50m has been ringfenced for MND, a condition which affects the brain and nerves, as part of a wider funding package of £375m announced last year for research into neurodegenerative disease over five years.
