Health department publishes plan for future of clinical R&D

£175m plan to “reset” and “enable” innovative research, while supporting researchers and delivering for patients

The health department has published a £175 million plan to speed up the rate of clinical research, support researchers and “help bust the Covid backlogs”.

The plan sets out measures that will be taken over the next three years for the department to achieve its 10-year vision, published last year, of creating a “more efficient, more effective and more resilient” clinical research environment, with research delivery embedded across the NHS.
