It may be difficult to prevent researchers taking their work with them when they change jobs, as foreseen for the 2021 Research Excellence Framework, university staff have said.
It may be tricky to find a consensus on the issue of non-portability of outputs, researchers and research managers have told Research Fortnight, following the publication of a consultation outcome on the 2021 Research Excellence Framework on 8 December.
The consultation had asked universities to share their views on how the recommendations in Nicholas Stern’s independent review of the REF could be implemented.
