More women and regional representatives will chair the sub-panels of the next Research Excellence Framework than in the 2014 exercise, the four funding councils have announced.
The sub-panel chairs will be responsible for leading the review of submissions to REF 2021 in their respective disciplines. The Higher Education Funding Council for England, the Scottish Funding Council, the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales and the Department for the Economy, Northern Ireland announced the names in a joint statement on 7 December.
