Space weather funding under consideration

The Natural Environment Research Council and the Science and Technology Facilities Council are in discussions to put together funding for research into space weather, the House of Commons Defence Select Committee heard on 9 November.

Richard Horne, a researcher at the British Antarctic Survey, told the committee’s inquiry into developing threats to electronic infrastructure that awareness had grown over the last few years about the threats posed by space weather.
