Heat threat to wheat, suggests research

Stress from heat due to increasing temperatures in Europe could threaten several varieties of wheat, modelling by scientists at Rothamsted Research has found.

The research suggests that crop scientists and breeders should prioritise the development of wheat varieties that are resistant to high temperature around the time of flowering.
