Oxford group maps brain gene activity

Oxford University scientists have produced the first complete map showing which genes are active in the mammalian brain.

The project, co-funded by the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council and the US National Human Genome Research Institute, used a new sequencing technology called RNAseq to identify genes actively producing messenger RNA in the brains of mice.
