Boosted X-rays could ‘revolutionise’ medical imaging

Researchers at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory have developed a bright, high-energy X-ray source that could produce much higher-resolution images in medical applications at a lower price.

The results of the project, funded by the Science and Technology Facilities Council, were published in Nature Physics on 18 September. An STFC statement said the work “is set to revolutionise X-ray imaging”.
