Seven collaborative research and development projects focused on protecting the water supply have been awarded grants totalling more than £2.5 million.
With the contributions of industry partners, the projects cost more than £5.6m. The companies, which include Balfour Beatty Utility Solutions and Halcrow Group, have to create a technology or process that will either save or recycle 1,000 million litres of water a day.
