Manchester in pole position in graphene race

The University of Manchester is the only institution invited to submit a proposal for a £45 million national graphene institute.

The institute, first announced by Chancellor George Osborne at the Conservative party conference in October, would be funded through the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council and The University of Manchester. The government is to provide £38m of the funding.
