The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council has awarded £3.7 million to a consortium run by the universities of Southampton, Bristol and Oxford and University College London to set up a centre for high-performance computing.
The Centre of Innovation for the Application of High Performance Computing will be set up using shared equipment and resources from the universities. It is the university consortium’s first project since it was established in 2011. The institutions also collaborate with the e-Science Centre at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in Oxfordshire.
