The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council has appointed three new members for its council.
The members, whose appointments run from 1 April until 31 March 2016, are Julia King, vice-chancellor of Aston University and former chief executive of the Institute of Physics; Richard Friend, physicist at the Cavendish Laboratory, University of Cambridge; and Andrew Blake, managing director of Microsoft Research Cambridge.
