AHRC announces winning video games research

The Arts and Humanities Research Council has announced the results of a call worth nearly £200,000 to set up networks in video games research.

In a press statement the AHRC said that the six projects, each receiving around £30,000, aim to bring “the insights” that will have value to “both the arts and humanities research community and the video games sector”.

Examples of projects include research into the phenomena of small gaming businesses and how to make them sustainable and culturally valuable. Another explores the ‘games for change’ movement, which aims to engage people in important issues through games.
