The Economic and Social Research Council has named the winners of its latest centres and large-grants call, who will each receive a share £29 million.
The announcement, made on 24 March, sees the funding split between four projects across the UK.
The International Centre for Language and Communicative Development—Lucid—is to receive £9m and will be based at the Universities of Manchester, Liverpool and Lancaster. It will look at why some children develop language problems and how differences in environments affect how they learn to talk.
