STFC centre catapulted into Scottish satellite applications group

A Scottish Centre of Excellence in Satellite Applications has named an astronomy centre owned by the Science and Technology Facilities Council as a partner.

The UK Astronomy Technology Centre will be offering access to satellite test facilities and Big Data expertise to the centre of excellence, which is based in Edinburgh. It will also offer access to the STFC’s space-focused Business Incubation Centre.

The Scottish centre, based at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, is one of three hubs being developed by the UK’s Satellite Applications Catapult.
