Zoologist wins BBSRC Innovator of the Year competition

Luke Alpey, a zoologist at the Pirbright Institute in Surrey, has been declared the overall winner of the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council's Innovator of the Year 2014 competition.

Queen Mary University of London and King’s College London won the BBSRC’s Activating Impact award, which acknowledges and celebrates successful Knowledge Exchange and Commercialisation teams or individuals at BBSRC-funded research organisations.

The BBSRC made the awards, which were announced on 21 March, as part of its Fostering Innovation competitions, which are designed to promote knowledge exchange.
