Storm Desmond forces Lancaster hydrology site to shut

The Centre for Ecology and Hydrology site in Lancaster site will remain shut on 11 December following power supply issues due to flooding caused by Storm Desmond.

The centre, part of the Natural Environment Research Council, said in a statement on 10 December that the site had to close due to constant power interruptions.

More than 5,000 homes across Cumbria, to the north of Lancaster, were flooded and 60,000 were left without power.
