The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council has set up a blog to publish debate and opinion pieces by scientists and engineers on research, innovation and science-funding policy.
Philip Nelson, chief executive of the EPSRC, said that the council wants the blog to provide different perspectives on topics affecting engineers and physical scientists. It is vital that those in the fields engage on such issues, he said, adding, “I hope the EPSRC blog will prove an additional and very useful tool in doing just that.”
In the first post on the blog, Nelson describes the process and thinking behind the recent publication of the ESRC’s strategic plan.
