ESRC expands EU referendum research programme

Seven senior research fellows have been appointed to the Economic and Social Research Council’s initiative the UK in a Changing Europe.

The seven appointments, announced on 11 January, include two professors of European Union law—Damien Chalmers from the London School of Economics and Political Science and Catherine Barnard from the University of Cambridge—as well as Angus Armstrong, director of macroeconomic research at the National Institute of Economic and Social Research.

The UK in a Changing Europe initiative aims to provide impartial analysis of the UK’s relationship with the EU, covering foreign and security policy, banking and financial services, social policies, and the impact of EU law. There are now 16 fellows in place.
