The Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council has announced the launch of the UK’s first high-performance computing cluster for genome analysis.
The project, known as CyVerse UK, will provide “free, large-scale, computing facilities and data storage” to UK-based life scientists.
A BBSRC press release, published on 21 October, said that CyVerse UK would help scientists to “take full advantage” of the big data that they generate—overcoming “a lack of computing resource, appropriate support and technical skills”.
