The Natural Environment Research Council has appointed three members to its science board.
In a statement on 24 October, NERC announced that Tamsin Mather, a professor of Earth sciences at the University of Oxford, David Thomas, a professor in the school of ocean sciences at Bangor University and Andrew Shepherd, a professor at the school of Earth and environment at the University of Leeds, will be joining the board in January 2017, replacing those who have completed their terms.
The Science Board is the NERC Council’s main source of advice on scientific matters. It is responsible for developing NERC’s integrated science strategy, and for advising on the balance of the science portfolio and on the strategic priority of funding new programmes and initiatives.
