The Economic and Social Research Council has appointed Louise Arseneault, a professor of developmental psychology at King’s College London, as its Mental Health Leadership Fellow.

Throughout the three-year fellowship, Arseneault will champion the role of the social sciences in mental health research and provide leadership and strategic advice on how social science research can best address the challenges that mental health poses for our society, communities and individuals, the ESRC said in a statement on 7 December.

Arseneault will be the ESRC’s first Mental Health Leadership Fellow, following a call launched in May.
