European Union nationals applying for research council studentships will be supported for the duration of their courses, the government has said.
The statement on postgraduate support follows the Department for Education’s announcement in October that EU nationals applying to undergraduate and masters courses in the 2017-18 academic year would be eligible for student loans and grants for the duration of their courses.
Jo Johnson, the universities and science minister, said that the clarification on postgraduate support for the next academic year was “further evidence of our commitment to ensuring the UK remains at the forefront of global science”.
