Principal investigator numbers drop at AHRC

The total number of principal investigators funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council has fallen by more than 200 since 2010-11, according to the council's latest impact report.

A total of 504 PIs received grant funding from the AHRC in 2014-15, which was 231 less than in 2010-11 and 121 less than in 2013-14.

According to figures published in the council’s impact report on 1 February, it has also funded slightly fewer research fellowships in 2014-15, with 41 awarded, compared with 47 in 2013-14.
