RCUK shifts focus to alliances with emerging nations

Research Councils UK says that Britain's scientists must maintain their close ties with colleagues working on European-Union-funded programmes while looking for new partnerships outside Europe.

In a post-referendum statement, RCUK has said it will use its offices in China, India and the United States to identify opportunities for international collaboration and forge strong links with research partners based there.

UK researchers must remain central to projects aimed at addressing major challenges, RCUK said. This will be done through strengthening existing partnerships and “building new partnerships with emerging science nations”.
