Anne Dixon, the chief operating officer at Innovate UK, has been appointed programme director for the proposed umbrella organisation UK Research and Innovation, Research Fortnight has learned.
Dixon will be responsible for the implementation phase of UKRI’s “reform and transformation programme” over the next two years. She will ensure that everything is ready for the expected launch of the organisation on 1 April 2018—subject to the passage of the higher education and research bill.
Hers is the third important appointment at UKRI in the past two months, following Mark Walport as chief executive and Rebecca Endean as director of strategy. The three are expected to work closely on the design of UKRI before its launch.
