‘Unfair’ to say that councils don’t work together, says RCUK chief
Research councils UK executive director Hilary Reynolds has said that UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) should build on, rather than undo, the achievements of RCUK.
Reynolds, who was appointed RCUK’s first executive director in 2015, said that the seven research councils are used to working together through professional networks, collaborative programmes, knowledge exchange, and skills and talent networks. “That has been a real achievement because it has been done by consent and partnership, not through coercion,” she said.
