A Migration Leadership Team, funded by two research councils, is being formed to review existing research on migration and identify future priorities.
The team, led by Laura Hammond, a reader in development studies at the School of African and Oriental Studies, University of London, will look at existing migration research and how the field might evolve to have the biggest possible impact.
The initiative, funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council and the Economic and Social Research Council, aims to promote interdisciplinary research into migration, with the hope of bridging the gap between research and practice. To this end, researchers will also look for ways to improve communication and collaboration in migration research.
