Marine biologist appointed chair of NERC science committee

Graham Underwood takes over from Angela Hatton as chair of the committee

Marine biologist Graham Underwood has been named chair of the Natural Environment Research Council’s science committee.

Underwood, who is a professor of marine and freshwater biology at the University of Essex, steps into the role at the research council this month, NERC announced on 11 November. He takes over from Angela Hatton, a professor at the National Oceanography Centre.
