UKRI sets out scientific infrastructure wish list to 2030

The umbrella research funding body backs decarbonisation and future transport technology in investment roadmap

The UK should attempt to keep its global edge in research and innovation by investing in up-and-coming technology such as underwater autonomous vehicles, according to the UK’s main funding body.

UK Research and Innovation, the UK-wide umbrella of funding bodies, made the recommendation in an analysis of the UK’s public research infrastructure and where funding should be invested over the next 10 years. It set out investment priorities across areas including social sciences, the health and food sector and engineering.
