UKRI to develop AI strategy

UK Research and Innovation is looking for help to develop a strategy for supporting research and innovation into artificial intelligence.

Umbrella funding agency UKRI said on 17 April that it would organise four regional workshops to gather views from researchers, companies and policymakers, which will feed into an upcoming review of AI. The workshops will be held between 15 and 31 May in Edinburgh, Bristol, Birmingham and London.

The objectives of the workshops are to develop a clear understanding of the current AI research and innovation landscape; to explore the areas of opportunity within it; and to understand the current challenges and barriers to progress and consider how these might be overcome.
