UK Research and Innovation is looking at using its billion-pound leverage as the UK’s main funding agency to boost access to research data, after recognising that the UK has fallen behind the rest of Europe.

Bruce said that other countries in Europe have been pushing ahead with open data, while engagement on the topic “has tailed off a little bit in the UK”.
