UKRI adds anti-bullying policy to grant conditions

UK Research and Innovation has updated the rules for its full economic cost and training grants to address the need for equality, diversity and inclusion, as well as preventing bullying and harassment.

Previously, the terms and conditions for these grants did not refer to UKRI’s latest policies on diversity, bullying and harassment. The latest terms and conditions released on 28 June reveal that UKRI has also added a condition related to peer review. This states that recipients of UKRI funding should “make all reasonable efforts” to act as peer reviewers for the agency when asked to do so, unless there is a conflict of interest or if the proposal is outside their area of expertise.

In addition, the funder has added a condition stating that it has the right to terminate the grant if it discovers that the grant holder has duplicate funding. Policies relating to sick leave and familial leave have also been clarified.
