UKRI and BEIS working ‘very closely’ on UK Arpa plans

MPs told there is ‘enthusiasm’ for locating new agency in the midlands or the north

The government’s business department and the country’s largest public research funder are working “very closely” on plans for a UK Advanced Research Projects Agency.

This is according to Alexandra Jones, director of science, research and innovation at the government Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, whose comments come after months of speculation about how the new agency would fit in with the existing funding landscape.
