UKRI leaders promise to tackle racism in research

Funder says it has begun work to address problems in its structures and work environments

UK Research and Innovation says it is working to address its structures, work environments and the ways it might be perpetuating racism.

The public statement, which was signed by members of UKRI’s executive team, comes amid worldwide anti-racism protests sparked by the killing of an unarmed black man, George Floyd, by a white police officer in Minneapolis.
