Future and vision of the innovation agency is further complicated by plans for UK Arpa

Concerns voiced by the outgoing executive chair of Innovate UK about plans for a UK Advanced Research Projects Agency have reignited the debate around the innovation agency’s role within the UK Research and Innovation funder.

The agency’s departing chair, Ian Campbell, said Innovate UK had “been given steadily less prominence, less autonomy and less capacity to act genuinely innovatively at a time when government policy is re-stressing the critical role of research and its commercial development”.
