Calls are mounting for UK Research and Innovation to change the way it makes funding decisions following concerns over recent grants awarded for research on Covid-19 and ethnicity.
Nearly 3,000 people have signed an open letter to the funder after it emerged that none of the seven principal investigators on Covid-19 grants awarded for research on death rates among people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds were Black.
