‘Exceptional’ chair will depart in May next year

John Kingman has announced that he is to step down as chair of UK Research and Innovation, marking the latest in a series of high-profile changes at the UK’s national funding agency.

Kingman (pictured), who was appointed in 2016 to oversee the creation of UKRI, will step down in May 2021, a UKRI spokesman confirmed.
